Artist Statement

As I have crossed the bridge from child to woman, I seek to find my purpose and intention on this planet. In the process of questioning and analyzing myself, I often wander backwards to stand in the middle of the bridge looking to my history and then to the unknown future. I become paralyzed between worlds. It is at this point on the bridge that my inspiration comes to me, it forces me to create, it is through this self expression that I can become fully present in the now. I find connection to the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “what lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” With his words in mind, I dare to journey inward. Perhaps by building a relationship with myself, I can more openly begin to understand this sublime experience we call, “life”. I can begin to realize my connection to the universe.

I adore using different materials and various avenues to channel my energy, it speaks to my Gemini spirit. I find that I am drawn to different mediums at specific points in time of my life. The written word is much like the black and white photograph that can still time in contrast to the viscous nature of paint, clay, and wax, which eludes time.

Throughout creation we can find freedom within.
